Alma McNairn
Alma McNairn, M.S.W., R.S.W is a registered Social Worker with over 25 years of experience within the field of mental health. She holds a Master Degree of Social Work from University of Windsor, as well as an undergraduate degree in Social Development Studies from University of Waterloo.

During the last ten years, Alma’s work has focused on supporting children and youth: She has developed specialized knowledge & expertise in the areas of childhood trauma, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), life transitions, interpersonal relationships, mood disorders and emotion regulation. Alma operates from a strength- based approach that offers a non-judgmental and safe environment which fosters hope for child and youth to develop their own mental wellness.

Some of her therapeutic approaches include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) specializing in children and youth, Solution Focused approach and Mindfulness. She is also experienced with Unified Protocol (emotion regulation program ) for children and youth. Alma also draws on Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
