Rachel Chard
Rachel is a Registered Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience working in the mental health field with adults.

Rachel has a Masters of Social Work from Wilfred Laurier University. She is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Over the past 15 years Rachel has provided a variety of supports to individuals and groups at the Northumberland Hills Hospital Community Mental Health Services.

Rachel provides psychotherapy to adults and young adults who are dealing with depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, OCD, psychosis, trauma, stress, relationship issues and life changes. Rachel works primarily from a CBT model, drawing on DBT, SFT and Mindfulness, as appropriate to the client's goals and needs. Rachel also provides CPT for PTSD.

Rachel has a particular interest in the structured, evidence based treatment of OCD through Inference- Based CBT (I-CBT) and PTSD though Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I-CBT is an evidenced-based treatment that provides an alternative to ERP in the treatment of OCD.
Rachel provides a safe warm space where she will work with you to identify and work towards your goals. Rachel’s aim is to give you the tools and skills that will support you not only in the present but also in the future.
